This injection is typically given in hospital settings for:

• Peptic (gastric or duodenal) ulcers

• Erosive esophagitis / GERD (Gastro-esophageal reflux disease)

• Zollinger–Ellison syndrome (pathological acid overproduction)

• Acid-related complications requiring rapid acid suppression
  It’s especially valuable when oral medications cannot be given or when quick acid control is needed.

• Do not self-administer. This medication must be given by trained staff.

• Inform healthcare provider about allergies, especially to PPIs.

• Use with caution in people with liver disease or a history of serious gastric conditions.

• Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Follow doctor’s advice.

• Long-term acid suppression may affect vitamin B12 levels and increase fracture risk.
